Maybe working with family isn’t taboo after all. Judging by the low-key yet persistently positive vibe brothers John and Jared Thomas exude, the proof is inside Edge City Brewery’s gleaming taproom and impressive catalog of high-quality beers the young brewery has produced since opening in April.

What’s in a name? The brewery sits on the edge of the CLT city limits while providing its visitors an ambiance that’s on the edge of urban and rural. A palette of bright colors greets you inside the taproom, while a tiered green space just off the patio is perfect for live music performances or a grassy patch for families to sprawl out. Bookended by Devil’s Logic Brewing and soon to join Vaulted Oak Brewing just a couple miles away, Edge City is one to watch on the emerging east-west brewery corridor.
